Hyundai IFC has increased its productivity and efficiency by establishing an integrated production system for forged steel and forged steel products. It will also lay the foundations for growth that will allow it to produce premium-level, high-value forged steel products in the mid- to long-term, while also maximizing the process and logistics efficiencies of its forging production system. Its overall goal is to enhance the competitiveness of the nation’s forging industry by supplying top-of-the-line products for use in automobiles, power generation, and aviation, as well as forged steel products for shipbuilding.

PRODUCTION PROCESS
Iron scrap is melted to make molten iron, and impurities are removed through a refining process, and then ingots are made through an ingot process. After heating the forged steel again, forged products of various sizes and shapes are completed through forging and machining operations according to product specifications. Forged products include engine parts, stern materials, mold steel, forged rolls, and forged round bars used in ships, automobiles, and industrial machinery.
